Which direction should the iPad be placed in the adapter?

The iPad should be positioned in the same direction as your photo graphic (portrait v. landscape)

To adjust the adapter, press the two buttons on the top and bottom and pull the tab outward to expand it. This will securely hold the iPad in place.
